The ILFA Gala Dinner is our annual African themed, black-tie gala dinner to celebrate the achievements of the ILFA secondees and also to recognise the work of all ILFA supporters, in particular, our partners and sponsor firms and corporations. The event which serves as ILFA’s main fundraising event provides an important networking opportunity in London for African lawyers across our network and for the law firms and corporate organisations who are involved in deal-making across Africa. This year’s event took place on Thursday 28th November at the UK Law Society.
Our 2019 Gala Dinner was themed the ILFA Ankara Ball – Ankara being a traditional form of brightly patterned, batik-inspired cotton fabric worn across the African continent. Often worn at celebratory events, Ankara is a non-verbal means of individuals or groups communicating their message with the world.
